Located on the charming riverside of Tamsui in Taipei, the hotel placed its front door in a quiet alley to avoid the clamor. Daylight streams through the French win- dows into the hall, and it is designed like departing from a ferry port. The floating and oval ceiling is sparkling, high and low, piling up a three-dimensional space with both elegance and a sense of freedom. The ship-imagery counter is like a canoe swing- ing between estuaries and wetlands.
Fish are swimming and man- groves extend out. The space and the natural integration give a tremendous and poetic sense of the local area in a new-design look.
